
Abrasive Wheels
Overview
This half day Abrasive Wheels training course is designed to help users identify, select, inspect and fit all varieties of wheel on a selection of relevant tools. The practical session includes choosing, inspecting and fitting the wheel for a specific task.
The course will provide knowledge and understanding for candidates. Those undertaking this course will:
Gain a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
Acquire a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and familiarity with other sources of information available, including learning about relevant legislation
Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
Learn how to conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
Learn how to identify and maintain PPE appropriate for a selection of abrasive wheels
Learn how to select a suitable type of blade relative to the work being undertaken
Learn how to conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area and set up safety zone
Learn how to prepare the machine for use and operate machinery safely and efficiently
Gain an understanding of environmental considerations
Understand how to store and transport a selection of abrasive wheels
Learn how to carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be issued with a Greenlight Safety certificate valid for 3 years.

This course is half a day in duration.

To attend this course you are required to have completed a short pre-requisite quiz, this will be distributed to you prior to the course start date. Please bring a form of photo identification on the day of your training course. Please also inform the Greenlight team of any allergies/preferences, as lunch will be provided.
